Baby Saad-Fisher is Coming!

Our tiny human arrives on November 19th!

We're so excited (and slightly terrified) to welcome our little one, and we're blown away by how many of you want to help us along the way. You're all amazing!

How You Can Help (If You Want)

First things first: your love and support mean everything to us! But if you're feeling the urge to shower us with baby goods (we see you, and we love you for it), here's the inside scoop on what would make our little family happiest.

  • Our Gentle Requests

  • The Community Welcome Event (aka baby shower)

  • The Meal Train

  • Shipping Gifts (that get to us)

Our Gentle Requests (AKA "Please Save Us From Polyester Prison")

Natural fabrics only, please! One of us (okay, it's Genesis) has skin more sensitive than a poet's soul. Cotton, bamboo, wool, linen – these are our friends. Polyester and synthetic blends? Not so much. Our baby's delicate skin will thank you.

Gender neutral is our jam! We're keeping the baby's gender a surprise, so think yellows, greens, grays, purples, and sayings like "adorable tiny human" rather than "future manosphere guru."

Used is beautiful! Babies grow fast, so your gently loved items are perfect. Bonus: it's better for the planet.

Single-use = single no! We're trying to avoid items that'll end up in a landfill after a couple of uses. Think quality over quantity, things that grow with the baby, or items that can live many lives. Mother Earth (and our future selves) will high-five you!

Small space, big love! Our apartment is cozy, and it’s already full of records, zombie books, and a Ninja Cremini! We don’t have much space, so we're going for quality essentials rather than "every baby gadget ever invented."

Community Welcome Event (aka Baby Shower)

Date: October xx, 2025, x:00pm

Location: Upper West Side

The meal train

Let's be real: once baby arrives, our cooking skills will probably deteriorate to "cereal for dinner" levels. That's where the beautiful concept of Meal Train comes in!

What's a Meal Train? It's like a food delivery service, but run by people who care about us (that's you!). Friends and family can sign up to bring or send us meals during those first few weeks when we'll be operating on approximately 37 minutes of sleep.

How it works:

  • Visit our Meal Train page (link below)

  • Pick a date that works for you

  • Choose to cook something, order delivery, or bring groceries

  • Show up and be our hero!

What we love: Comfort food, anything that doesn't require us to think too hard. Allergy alert: Genesis can have butter, but is allergic to other cow’s milk products. She’s good with goat/sheep dairy, though.

Shipping Gifts (that get to us)

Want to send something our way? Here's our address and some helpful hints:

  • Address: 573 Eastern Parkway, 3rd floor, Brooklyn, NY 11216

  • Best delivery days: Monday-Friday (One of us is usually home after 6 PM)

  • Pro tip #1: Drop a text if you’re sending something so we can be extra ready to receive it!

  • Pro tip #2: The baby won’t need much in the first weeks. We’ll all be on the couch in shock. If it’s something the baby will use after the first month, feel free to have it arrive after the due date. We’re more likely to be home, and babies don't read calendars anyway!

Here's the thing:

Whether you bring us a gift, a meal, a joke (for Genesis), a period drama recommendation (for Lyna), or just your wonderful presence, what matters most is that you're part of our village.

This little person is going to be so lucky to be surrounded by people like you.

With love, gratitude, and slightly anxious excitement,
Lyna, Genesis, and Baby Saad-Fisher
